Ecademy Global Ltd - a new company

I'm a bit confused and need some clarification. I see that we have a new owner and chairman of Ecademy and this has been communicated under the company name Ecademy Global Ltd.

What is the relationship between Ecademy Global Ltd and The Ecademy Ltd?
Is Lyndon the owner of both?
Who do I now pay my subsrciption to?

Thanks a lot

I'm going to give up trying to write humour. No matter how hard I try I'll never come up with anything as funny as this blog.

With a 75% shareholding and a set of beliefs and behaviours that clearly lead to success, let the man do his thing - some will like what he does and engage more - some will no-longer like the flavour and leave... not a problem What is key is making sure that "fresh blood" and passion are brought in and welcomed to the community so that the business starts to be sustainable again. and that WILL take pain and change. If you like what you see keep paying... if you don't.....stop & leave! If you have a lifetime membership - accept the change, for there is little in life that is transferable and if the new owner chooses to honor those contracts - some which are 10+ years only in an economy where a typical lifecycle is less than 5 years - you have done very well! THE KING IS DEAD...... long live the king!

Thank you Lyndon for

the clarification. We supported Ecademy and the team for several years now - in good and bad times - and as BSLM we aren't always happy with all the changes, but the most important value of ecademy, we - the memebrs - are still here :-) Looking forward to meet you in person. Power to the puppies! Sometimes I wonder? Yes sorry Steve I try very hard to ignore you! Why do Ecademy members always feel they own Ecademy? Why do members claim they have thecright to know how much or little money Thomas and Penny did or did nt make with Ecademy. Why s hould members have the right to know how much or little Lyndon has paid, or will make, or will invest in Ecademy? If I s ubscribe to a magazine or newspaper would they tell me when the chief editor last went on. Holiday, businesstrip or worked late? If Lyndon builds a smart legal end tax structure for Ecademy I think that is a mart business approach! I think members should enjoy the benefits of Ecademy! Pay the fees they choose to pay. Support or critisise the mt as much as thay want, but do it with some decency and respect! Let's keep things moving! Fred Rutgers

Here's a thought. Black Star contracts (for example) were between the individual and Ecademy Ltd. As that company has ceased to exist, don't the contracts fall? Only asking. But I see that Fraser has asked the same question elsewhere and I havn't seen the answer.

Ok now things are starting to settle I can see you are getting impatient and you are correct to ask the questions so now I am ready to answer after responding to over 210 inboxes phew I acquired the assets of The Ecademy Ltd so The Ecademy Ltd is now no longer. Ecademy Global Ltd is: Lyndon Wood - Chairman and 75% Shareholder of Ecademy Global Ltd Thomas Power - CEO Penny Power - Director Penny Power Ltd - 25% Shareholder No one else has any interest in Ecademy now other than the above. Payments remain unchanged and all goes towards building Ecademy to world class status for you. We have a substantial development budget and a great vision which we will bring to you and will make Ecademy the best and most useful business social community (not just a network) in the world. Thomas and I are working on the "What Happens Next" manifesto and will share that with you in due course likely to be within the next two weeks. I will have a private area here to keep everyone up to date with progress. Some real exciting things happening that will really benefit you all. I want to see every business grow and grow profit so keep contributing and please encourage new members it will benefit you if you do, I promise. Thank you for your loyalty and great support. Lyndon

What a load of tosh

I am at one with Norman F. So many words written (above) that amount to uninformed and pointless speculation. The Daniel Priestley adventure proved that appointments at the top of Ecademy are meaningless. What matters is how the thing functions, and what the platform allows members to do. If things change for the better (e.g. if we have improved facilities) why, we shall smile. If things change for the worse, why, we can leave. This announcement is of passing interest. It does not, however, clarify where Daniel Priestley fits, nor does it explain Penny's position. Only the other day she announced that she was back to lead Ecademy. And now ...? Intangibles matter, especially in a relationship-based medium like this. That means openness and trust. For the time being, let's just carry on as before. PKP PS. @Steve, many (including yours truly) have assisted without pay.

Steve

I actualli giggle out loud occasionally when I follow the going on and changes, see the people come and go, especially the more communicative ones. And bosses? Daniel and Jeremy? Presented as saviours and leaders, they pen a couple of blogs and then disappear...... and the in crowd just carry on as normal. :-)

Dear Tim and Robert! I like a stronger involvement of the UK and European insurance business in social business networks like Ecademy! Lyndon has a wealth of business experience and has built a UK Top 100 Insurance broker which he founded at the age of 19 back in august 1990. The key success factor of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway is the insurance industry! Insurance and reinsurance business activities at Berkshire Hathaway are conducted through approximately 70 domestic and foreign-based insurance companies. Berkshire's insurance businesses provide insurance and reinsurance of property and casualty risks primarily in the United States. In addition, as a result of the General Re acquisition in December 1998, Berkshire's insurance businesses also included life, accident and health reinsurers, as well as internationally based property and casualty reinsurers. Berkshire's insurance companies maintain capital strength at exceptionally high levels. This strength differentiates Berkshire's insurance companies from their competitors. Collectively, the aggregate statutory surplus of Berkshire's U.S. based insurers was approximately $48 billion as of December 31, 2004. All of Berkshire's major insurance subsidiaries are rated AAA by Standard & Poor's Corporation, the highest Financial Strength Rating assigned by Standard & Poor's, and are rated A++ (superior) by A. M. Best with respect to their financial condition and operating performance. There is a fundamental difference between the insurance business and the venture capital industry! The insurance business has a very long term focus while the venture capital industry only offers a very short term investment commitment! In 2010 alone, European insurance premiums totaled €1,1 trillion and all premiums will be invested continuously in the European and global economies! All European insurance companies managed a total investment portfolio of €7.5 trillion in 2010! Ecademy, with Lyndon as chairman, thanks to his excellent personal ties to UK's and Europe's insurance industry, implemented a very sustainable long term strategy that has the potential to outperform the entire US social media networking industry! Hope you all a great and wealthy future in a changing and challenging world! Best, Lucas

Tim Actually, I am pretty confused myself but have better things to worry about. I suppose a simple org chart would address these issues. I am assuming that Daniel P is no longer part of the team...? Penny is...? Yes, it is a bit confusing form the outside. I think there has been a lot of moving around and there will be more announcements to clarify things. RC
