One day at a time

Given the subject matter of many blogs, too many in my opinion at the moment, perhaps a moment of reflection?

"One day at a time - this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone: and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering."
Ida Scott Taylor

'Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.'
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today is a new day, lets enjoy it and have fun! ;-)

An ourobos, the serpent that eats it's own tail. And so, for ever and ever. http://ourfunnyplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Ouroboros_dragon2.jpg

One day at a time

I live in the past, present and possible future, I can't help it. There is no drawbridge I can bring down between them; I don't believe anyone can really. The notes of man- measured units of time make the melody of the inner experience, and the present is already the past, even as I type this. I like what Emerson says. I do find it a constructive approach to start each day over, where things have gone wrong, not simply to pick up the reins and carry on galloping further into trouble. I believe in the virtue of self control and damage limitation. Unless of course, there is an unresolved situation. Some things can only be dealt with cumulatively or episodically. Time is not a worm made in sections. It is not a Damien Hirst sculpture. It's a watercolour, a pastiche. It's an ourobos. Maybe even a spiral stairway.
